Have you ever seen a crankie show before? Now's your chance!
The Last Believer is the story of Mae, her love of Tyneside folklore, and her journey to the magical kingdom of Greckohog. Can she outrun the mysterious Wolfman who lurks in the shadows?
The story is told on a unique two-metre high moving panorama called a 'crankie'. Expect original live music, puppetry and a bold adventure for the whole family.

This one is sure to please kids who love tech and love building things! Use LEGO® and plastic components to build a model, then programme it using an iPad.
With Scratch block coding, they’ll be able to make their model move, make noise, light up, and play music.

Looking for Easter holiday art activities in the North East?
At the Laing's art camp, kids will explore the exhibitions, discuss art, and create their own artworks in hands-on sessions led by professional arts educators.

Children and their grown-ups can try on Roman and British warrior armour, helmets, and equipment. You can handle authentic weaponry and even try throwing spears like a Roman soldier.
Explore what daily life was like in Roman-occupied Britain through a range of hands-on artefacts, including both military and civilian items, giving families a truly immersive historical experience.

During the Easter holidays, bring the whole family along to create your own spring-themed headwear at the Old Gaol.
You can choose to make hare or bunny ears, velvety deer antlers, or even design your own unique Easter bonnet. Once decorated with colourful spring blooms, wear your handmade Easter headwear and head out on the Hare Trail, spotting all the hidden hares around the museum.

Over Easter, little ones can listen to a story and then explore associated crafts and play experiences in Discovery Museum's new Tiny Tyneside area.

Our Easter holiday events are part of our Ways to Play programme of free and low-cost family-friendly activities.
Make your Ways to Play adventure a great value day out by travelling to our venues by the Metro and/or Ferry. Up to three children aged 11 and under can travel for free on the Metro and the Shields Ferry with a fare-paying adult. Metro is the convenient, fast and frequent way to get to your favourite attractions and now it's even more affordable.
