About
Come and see the amazing work of 250 local residents, open daily between 4 to 12 April, who have created a kinetic installation inspired by the wind and the stories that connect us.
Storytelling, like the wind, carries voices across borders, barriers and generations. ‘Wind Garden’ explores the meeting point between people, arts & sustainability.
250 North East of England residents took part in free-to-access creative workshops with artists, collaborating together to make the Wind Garden installation. All 250 of these sculptures will be installed together and celebrated on the Great North Museum’s lawn, open to the public daily 10am-5pm between 4-12 April in the Easter Holidays.
Wind Garden has been made possible through funding from The National Lottery Community Fund 'Awards for All'; Community Foundation North East and Newcastle City Council Cultural Investment Fund; The Barbour Foundation and Hadrian Trust. The project is also supported through partnership with the Great North Museum: Hancock. Wind Garden is produced by Moving Parts Arts CIO.
Wind Garden designed by Chloe Rodham.
