Zoe Williams

3 April 1980 - Present

After graduating from Newcastle University Medical school, she rose to fame through the TV show Gladiators. She has used this platform to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles

Zoe Williams leads on work to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles with the Royal College of General Practitioners. She is passionate about preventive medicine, sports medicine and tackling chronic health through lifestyle measures such as healthy eating and physical activity. Zoe founded the organisation ‘Sportsgirls’ which aims to increase the physical activity of teenage girls by inspiring, educating and motivating them to be healthier and more active. In 2013 workshops were also developed for boys and the organisation was renamed Fit4Life.  

As a child Zoe suffered from asthma but she developed a love for rugby, and while at Newcastle University she was part of the Blaydon Women’s Rugby Football Club playing at Premiership National League level. She also took a break from her studies and rose to fame as Amazon, one of the super-fit contestants in the television show Gladiators.  

After graduating from Newcastle University medical school in 2007, she gained experience in many specialist fields within medicine including A&E, cardiology, respiratory and acute medicine, surgery, dermatology, oncology, obstetrics and gynaecology.  

Zoe is a regular contributor to This Morning on ITV, answering viewers questions and providing advice on health matters and when not on television, she is a General Practitioner with the NHS in London.
