National Renewable Energy Centre is the leading technology innovation and research centre for offshore wind power, wave energy, tidal energy and low carbon technologies in the country. It is a part of the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult.
It provides services to the power sector; helping its clients literally to ‘test the water’ before proceeding to full-scale production with renewable technologies. Narec’s wind and marine services include blade prototype testing for wind turbines, wave technology, and testing for submersibles - a category which includes sub-sea pipes and cable protection systems.
