North East Museums seeks Board members for Trading Company and Development Trust
Roles will support income generation for major museum group
North East Museums is seeking new Board members to support ambitious plans for its venues and public programmes.
Four different roles are being recruited to.
Two roles will serve on the Board of the trading company, North East Museums Limited:
- Chair and Non-Executive Director of North East Museums Limited
- Non-Executive Director of North East Museums Limited.
The other two roles serve on the Board of the charity, North East Museums Development Trust:
- Chair and Trustee of North East Museums Development Trust
- Trustee of North East Museums Development Trust.

North East Museums Limited
North East Museums Limited has been established following a major review of North East Museums’ governance structures.
Its purpose, as a trading company, is to enable North East Museums to capitalise on the expertise it has already developed in relation to commercial and exhibitions activity, which has resulted in a significant increase in self-generated income and is seeing North East Museums recognised nationally for its entrepreneurial work.

North East Museums Development Trust
North East Museums Development Trust was established in 2010 and is a registered charity.
Its purpose it to raise funds to support North East Museums' activities and objectives. It raises over £1 million a year from charitable sources including individual donors, trusts and foundations.
