North East Museums Community Pass

The North East Museums Community Pass Scheme helps more people enjoy our museums and galleries. It is designed for those who may not usually visit, including individuals and communities facing barriers such as cost or access.

We work with trusted community partners to distribute free passes to people they support, helping to remove barriers and create welcoming opportunities for everyone.

Our aim is to support health and wellbeing, widen access to culture, and ensure our museums are inclusive and representative of the communities we serve.

The North East Museums Community Pass allows free entry to our venues which have an admission charge. These venues include: 

• Segedunum Roman Fort 
• Hexham Old Gaol 
• Woodhorn Museum 

All other North East Museums venues are free to visit. 

Passes are distributed through North East Museums Community Partners who are part of the large network that makes up the North East Museums Community Forum.  If you want to find out more about the Community Forum, please contact Zoë Brown.

1. Your Community Pass grants unlimited free admission for one adult to Woodhorn Museum, Hexham Old Gaol, and Segedunum Roman Fort until 31 March 2027. 
2. Tickets are free for under 18s and for a carer or personal assistant if you are attending with access needs.  
3. Your Community Pass is valid for Woodhorn Museum, Hexham Old Gaol, and Segedunum Roman Fort; North East Museums other venues are free to visit. 
4. Some exhibitions, events and activities at our museums have a charge. For details, please visit our website. 
5. You can write your name, or your community group’s name, on the back of the Community Pass. 
6. Your Community Pass is not transferable to another person or community group. 
7. The number of your Community Pass will be recorded when you enter Woodhorn Museum, Hexham Old Gaol, and Segedunum Roman Fort. This is for community group counting purposes only. 
8. Some events are not included within the Community Pass and are free to all visitors. 
9. If you lose your Community Pass, please contact your community group to arrange a replacement.
