Festive Tales Relaxed Sessions

Enjoy the magic of Christmas in a calmer setting with Festive Tales Relaxed Sessions. These sessions feature smaller group sizes and a quieter, more informal environment, perfect for families who would benefit from a gentler, more relaxed experience.

Step into a more gentle Christmas experience where children can meet Father Christmas, share their wishes, and take home an early gift.

Each 30-minute session includes a cosy festive story time and the chance to have your photograph taken with Father Christmas.

You can also have a go at the drop-in, family friendly festive art activities in the Pop-Up Ashington Group Hut.

Festive Tales Relaxed Sessions begin on Saturday 6 December and continue every weekend throughout December, with extra sessions on Monday 22, Tuesday 23, and Wednesday 24 December, before Father Christmas has to leave Woodhorn to deliver presents around the world.

Important information

Arrival: 

• All Adults attending with children to the session must have a valid annual pass. Please show your pass at the Entrance Hut when you arrive. If you have pre-booked your pass online, this will be issued to you during your first visit. If you do not have an annual pass they can be purchased on the day.  
• Staff on the Entrance Hut will only check annual pass. Please present your tickets for the Festive Tales event at the Workshop Galleries. 
• Please arrive for your booking with sufficient time to purchase an annual pass if required.  

Location:

• Festive Tales will take place within the Workshop Galleries. Crafts will be available for you to use in the workshop galleries whilst you wait for your event. 

Museum Information:

• The Museum will be open between 10am and 4pm.
• For any accessibility information click here.
• The Winding House Cafe opens 10:30am – 3:30pm. Last food orders are at 2:30pm.
• Except for assistance dogs, dogs are not allowed inside the main Cutter Building, the Winding House Café, or Workshop Galleries.
