Welcome

Woodhorn school workshop

Woodhorn Museum welcomes school, home education, and community groups of all ages for both self-led and facilitated visits. We also offer regular workshop dates for home educators to book individually, without needing to attend as an organised group.

At Woodhorn, students can explore our region’s rich mining heritage, discover the story of the Pitmen Painters through art workshops, and connect STEM learning to real-world contexts. Our experienced learning team delivers workshops and activities Monday to Thursday during term time. As we are closed to the public on Mondays and Tuesdays, these days are ideal for larger group visits.

Self-led groups are welcome Wednesday to Sunday when the museum is open to the public.

To check availability, make a booking, or ask about our education programme, please contact learningnld@northeastmuseums.org.uk

Include your group or school name, and details about the group’s age range, size, and any specific needs.
