Home Educators Arts Award Opportunities
Arts Award with Home Educated families.
Are you ready to begin your Arts Award journey or do you need to progress onto the next level? Have a read through the steps below to understand how it works here and how you can take part.
How does it work?
In the past we ran live briefings in person or virtually. We are now using a different process where briefings are pre-recorded so that you can access them in your own time.
Step 1 – Watch the Introduction Video to find out about the levels and how it works at the Great North Museum: Hancock.
Step 2 – Email us to let us know which levels you would like to find out more about.
Step 3 - A member of the team will send you a link to a video briefing for your level. Take your time watching this. You will also want to look at the useful information video and read out FAQs sheet.
Step 4 – if you decide to go ahead with your award, then get back in touch with your email, names, levels and the deadline you are aiming for.
Step 5 – You are ready to go! Work on your award. Our team will get in touch when the hand in dates approach and if you are ready to hand in, then send the work to us.

Why do we need to get in touch?
We ask that you get in touch and record yourself as working on an award for a few reasons:
- So that we can track how many people are working on levels and plan our workload appropriately
- So that we can keep in touch about any Arts Award updates and any events that we have taking place or that we know about.
- So that you get updates about hand in dates and how you can pay and submit your work.
Upcoming hand in dates
Tuesday 31 March 2026
Wednesday 30 September 2026
