About

A powerful new community dance performance created and performed by adults from South East Northumberland and the wider North East.

An adaptation of Eliot Smith’s poignant work POPPY, this 15-minute abstract piece is inspired by the enduring symbolism of the poppy flower. It honours those who have served, those currently serving, and the families affected by conflict.

Set against the historic backdrop of Woodhorn Museum, this moving performance is a testament to collective memory, resilience, and the power of community expression through dance.

Join us for this free, one-time performance.

Sea of Red Dancers is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, with in-kind support from Woodhorn Museum and North East Museums.
