Welcome to Science Adventures at Newcastle University!
Science Adventures is a free event for families. Join us for a day filled with fun activities and demonstrations about Psychology and Science. You can also participate in a variety of different research projects that are currently being run at Newcastle University!
To attend the event, please register for a time that suits you. We are running sessions at: 10:30am, 12:00pm, 1:30pm and 2:00pm. These sessions are scheduled to be 1.5 hours each. The 10:30am slot will be a quiet hour designed to be a more relaxed environment with a smaller capacity to fit the needs of anyone with SEND requirements (note that this session is shorter at 1hr 15mins). You will need to register 1 ticket per child and at least one accompanying adult ticket per family/group. This event is for 4-11 year-olds, on this occasion we can't guarantee we can accept siblings outside this age group. If you have questions about this, please get in touch.
Once you have registered, please follow this link to read information about the different studies that your child can participate in. After reading, you will be able to complete the consent form that is required to participate in the studies. All participation is voluntary, and you can select which studies you wish your child to participate in. If you do not wish to participate in any of the research, please still come along to enjoy the Psychology and Science activities. If you are unsure about the day and what it is like to be part of studies, please do not hesitate to contact us, and we will be glad to talk you through the events.
Science Adventures sessions are run by researchers in developmental psychology who are building a new initiative to improve the accessibility of science to families in Newcastle through direct outreach, and build partnerships between the local community and the School of Psychology and the Great North Museum.Get ready to unleash your inner scientist and embark on a journey of discovery! Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to dive into the wonders of science in a fun and engaging way.
See you there!
