About

Our Messy Mice sessions are designed for children under 5, and are the perfect place for your little one to socialise with new people and make friends, whilst exploring our Museum collections though messy play.

The sessions will begin with songs, followed by free time to explore some messy activities within the space and an opportunity to have a closer look at some of our museum handling collections. You may wish to dress in old clothing and bring a change of clothes and towel with you.

Washable paint paint will be used during the session but sometimes we may use other food based or natural materials to incorporate into out play. Please do let us know of any known allergies or intolerances in advance of the session so that we can adapt the session to suit your needs.

Important notes

Arrival: Please arrive at the main museum entrance where the welcome desk can direct you.

Location: Sessions are usually in the Clore Learning Suite (Clore 2), but may occasionally move to another location within the museum.

Cancellations: If you are unable to attend, please contact Georgina at georgina.scott@northeastmuseums.org.uk so your space can be offered to another family.

Please consider purchasing a donation ticket or leaving a donation when you book today. We rely on the generosity of our visitors to help us keep art and heritage at the heart of the North East. Thank you.
