About

Would you like to explore unseen archival material?

Tyne & Wear Archives is offering a rare chance to get up close to archive material, much of which has never been seen before. From detailed architectural drawings, medical registers, event scrapbooks and even staff records.

You'll also have the opportunity to join a guided behind the scenes tour of the archives store - home to some very important documents including our oldest charter which dates back to AD 1183.

This event celebrates the completion of Tyne & Wear Archives’ Public Records project - the records on display come under the umbrella of Public Records.
