About

Join local theatre and creative arts company The Six Twenty for a relaxed, playful workshop helping to shape You Are Here: NOVUM, a new audio and live trail through Newcastle city centre being made for NOVUM Festival this summer, 7–9 August.

What is the trail?
It’s a big celebration of the city and the people who know it best. During the festival, audiences will put on audio headsets, think silent-disco style, and be guided through the streets by a live performer, hearing local voices, memories and stories that bring Newcastle to life.

About this workshop
We’d love your help shaping the experience. Together, in this relaxed creative workshop, we’ll explore our favourite places, sights, sounds and stories of the city.

You might make your own map of Newcastle, share places that matter to you, listen to short audio tasters, think about how the city has changed, record short audio responses if you’d like to, or help us imagine what would make the final trail fun and surprising.

Families are welcome to take part as much or as little as they like. The session will be relaxed, creative and low-pressure, with a mix of activities to dip in and out of.

The session is aimed at young people aged 10+ and their families, but younger siblings are very welcome to come along too!

Your ideas will help shape the final You Are Here: NOVUM trail, which will pop up in Newcastle city centre during NOVUM Festival, 7–9 August.
