About

An evening of calm, cosy activities at the museum to get you away from the Christmas rush but to boost the festive feelings.  

Music performances include:

  • Choir performances with some traditional winter songs  
  • Simon Wood on the Hang drums encouraging you to slow down and take a moment to breath  
  • The incredible sights and sounds of a Gamelan ensemble performed by musicians from Newcastle University.  

Activities include:

  • Making festive cosmetics with our lovely friends at Lush (additional charges apply)
  • Stock up on stocking fillers from Lush and our museum shop  
  • Festive stories by candlelight with the magnificent Moss Troopers
  • Relaxing Christmas crafts to make for yourself or to give as a gift, such as:  
    • Textile tree decorations with Artist Louise Underwood  
    • Festive pop up cards inspired by beautifully bizarre Victorian card designs
    • Recycled paper wreaths to hang at home indoors.

Festive treats:

  • A selection of festive drinks and snacks from the museum bar  
  • Refreshing beers from Stubrew.
