Managed by North East Museums on behalf of Newcastle University
Museum visits are a great way to enrich your curriculum, provide support or challenge for particular groups, and develop cultural capital. Whether it is the awe of authentic objects for GCSE/A Level Art or Photography, deciphering Latin inscriptions to learn about the Roman period of our local history with KS3, or learning about evolution through real fossils with KS3-5, we have a range of opportunities suited to secondary schools.
We have workshops (led by museum staff) and bookable resources (to support you during school-led time in the galleries) for this topic. We also have printable activities that you can use in school-led time.
Scroll down for more information.
Self-led visits and workshops are free.
The only activity in the museum that incurs a cost is visiting the planetarium.
The price for a planetarium showing starts at £37, with some discounts available. Find more information on the planetarium, including detailed prices, show information and trailers here.
