About the event

The First Cohort of Tungrians originated from what is now Belgium. This re-enactment group portrays the men and families of the Tungrian Auxiliaries of the early second century - come along to meet Roman auxiliary soldiers, a Romano-British lady and some of her children.

Visit their encampment to see a living history display of food and cooking, a medical kit, arms and armour and some parts of everyday life on the Wall. Learn all about the armour and equipment on display which children can try on or perhaps carry out some drill exercises.
