About

Discover how the devastating fire of around AD 300 has helped archaeologists uncover life at Arbeia. Learn how charred remains can reveal what people ate, how they cared for animals, and managed their land.

Come and explore what might have been found in a Roman stable, then try your hand at soil flotation to spot clues left behind in places like stables, granaries and kitchens.

A fun, interactive activity for families to explore Roman life through real archaeological techniques.
