Race the Train 3k Run

Take on the ultimate challenge at our 3k fun run at Stephenson Steam Railway! 

Board a heritage train at Middle Engine Lane at 11:30am, ride to Percy Main Station, then race the train back to Middle Engine Lane, starting at 11.50am. First over the finish line wins a family season ticket for the year! 

Adult Race Ticket (Includes single train ride): £5

Concession Race Ticket (Includes single train ride): £5

Adult Spectator Ticket (Includes return journey): £9

Concession  Spectator Ticket (Includes return journey): £7

Concession = 60+ years & under 21s

The race is a fun run and suitable for families and for runners of all abilities.

The train departs Middle Engine Lane at 11.30am

The race starts (whilst the train departs) Percy Main Station at 11.50am

Please arrive 15 minutes before the train departure time at Middle Engine Lane

Runners who don’t wish to take a train ride can join at Percy Main station for £5 to take part in the race.

Please note: 
Entrants take part at their own risk. Stewards will be situated throughout the course. The course follows a mixture of paved footpaths, tarmac footpaths, waggonways and gravel footpaths.

Entrants should ensure they wear suitable footwear.
First aid available at the museum.
