About

Children will explore the local history and habitat of Stephenson Steam Railway. They will use photographs of the site in the past to identify how the physical features and history of the Stephenson Steam Railway site have changed overtime. They will take part in sensory based activities to enable them to bring different historical time periods to life. They will visit our woodland walk area and carry out investigations to record the flora and fauna of the site. They will finish off the session by creating their own version of one of the species they find on site using different materials.

Parts of this session will be delivered outside so please dress appropriately and will be aimed at KS2 and KS3 level children. We ask that parents are responsible for children on their visits and accompany the children on the visit. We suggest that younger siblings aren’t in attendance, except for babes in arms.
