About

Explore the stories of George and Robert Stephenson and the impact of their work in developing the railways. Children will take part in an interactive story, using a textile version of Stephenson’s Rocket. They will see and discover more about Stephenson’s locomotive ‘Killingworth Billy’, the third oldest surviving locomotive in the world. Inspired by the Stephensons, children will develop their engineering skills through observational drawing, then try to create their own train design.

This session is aimed at KS1 level children. We ask that parents are responsible for children on their visits and accompany the children on the visit. We suggest that younger siblings aren’t in attendance, except for babes in arms. This is due to room capacity.
