Terms & Conditions
1. Promoter and Benefactor
1.1 The Promoter of this raffle is North East Museums Development Trust (NEMDT), Discovery Museum, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4JA. NEMDT are licensed to conduct this raffle by Newcastle City Council, license number LOTT1062.
1.2 The benefactor of this raffle is North East Museums Development Trust, Charity Commission registration number 1137867.
1.3 All funds made during this raffle will be ring-fenced to NEMDT’s venue, South Shields Museum & Art Gallery, Ocean Road, South Shields, NE33 2JA, as required by the donor of the prize, Mr. Robert Olley.
2. These terms and conditions refer to in person and online entries to our UK raffle. Purchase of a raffle ticket proves that the participant has read and agreed to the below terms and conditions. .
3. Dates
3.1 The raffle opens on 1st October 2025 at 10:00am.
3.2 The raffle closes on 23rd January 2026 at 12:00 noon. Entries received outside of this period will not be counted.
4. Eligibility
4.1 The NEMDT raffle is open to all UK mainland residents (this excludes Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and BFPOs) over the age of 16, except employees of NEM, TWAM Enterprises, members of the NEM Audit Committee and Strategic Board, the trustees of NEMDT and their households.
4.2 No tickets can be sold to, on behalf of, or for a person under the age of 16 years.
4.3 If a ticket is sold unknowingly to, on behalf of, or for a person under the age of 16 they will be exempt from the raffle and will forfeit their prize and the stake will be returned.
5. Entry
5.1 Participation in this raffle can be made in person at South Shields Museum & Art Gallery Shop and any other venue deemed appropriate, from members of the NEMDT Trustee board and through the TWAM Enterprises website with payment by credit or debit card.
5.2 Some credit card providers may charge a cash advance fee for raffle ticket payments. Please check with your provider before paying for raffle tickets using this method.
5.3 Raffle tickets can NOT be purchased through CAF or using Charity Vouchers.
5.4 Raffle tickets will be entered into the draw only when the whole payment is received.
5.5 Online entrants will be notified by email of their ticket numbers.
5.6 The cost of each ticket entry into the raffle is £5.
5.7 You may purchase more than one ticket, but the maximum number of tickets is one hundred (£500).
5.8 Payment to enter the raffle must be made in advance of the draw date. Any payment received after the draw date will be treated as a donation.
6. Winner selection
6.1 The winning raffle ticket will be drawn randomly on Thursday 29 January 2026 at South Shields Museum & Art Gallery, and the winner will be notified within 48 hours of the draw taking place.
6.2 Winners must claim their prize by responding to the e-mail or phone call within 14 days of being notified. The email will come from development@northeastmuseums.org.uk, the phone call will come from 0191 277 2172.
6.3 The result of the raffle is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
6.4 It is the raffle ticket holder’s responsibility to prove their win. Please keep the ticket/confirmation email as proof of purchase
6.5 Where NEMDT is unable to contact the prize-winner so that the prize remains unclaimed for six months following NEMDT's first attempt to notify the prize-winner, NEMDT may apply the prize as it sees fit, including re-offering the prize in future raffles.
6.6 All winners are required to co-operate with NEMDT's right to publish their win and their details as and where deemed appropriate, and to provide proof of age when requested.
7. Privacy notice
7.1 Personal data provided through buying a raffle ticket will be processed by North East Museums on behalf of NEMDT for the purpose of administering the raffle.
7.2 Buying a raffle ticket will be deemed as the entrant’s consent to this processing. If the entrant does not consent to this processing, please contact development@northeastmuseums.org.uk
7.3 The data will be handled in accordance with UK data protection legislation and will not be shared with third parties without the entrant's consent.

8. Disclaimers
8.1 NEMDT accepts no responsibility for raffle tickets which are lost, damaged, illegible or from which the prize winner cannot be identified, or for any technical failure or event which may cause the competition to be disrupted or corrupted.
8.2 In the event of an error, howsoever caused, whether a printing error or otherwise and whether obvious or otherwise, which affects the raffle in any way, NEMDT
reserve the right to administer the raffle as though the error had not occurred. Where deem it appropriate and/or feasible NEMDT will notify entrants of the error.
8.3 Failure to comply with any of these rules may result in the disqualification of the entry. NEMDT reserves the right to disqualify any entry at their absolute discretion
8.4 The Promoter’s decision in all matters relating to the raffle is final.
9. As required by the Gambling Commission, all raffle tickets will include:
9.1 The name of the Promoter, North East Museums Development Trust The name and address of the responsible person
9.2 The date of the draw
9.3 The price of the ticket
9.4 That the raffle is supporting South Shields Museum & Art Gallery
