About

Visitors are invited to enjoy free Wellness Weekends at South Shields Museum & Art Gallery, designed to encourage mindfulness and relaxation through art, to celebrate the arrival of Pierre Mignard's The Marquise de Seignelay (1691) as part of the National Gallery’s Masterpiece Tour.

In this special session, visitors can take part in a 30-minute Qigong class led by a professional instructor, held in front of Mignard's artwork - creating a calming and immersive start to the morning that blends movement with mindfulness.

Qigong is a Chinese practice involving coordinated movement, breathing, and meditation that aims to improve physical and mental health.
