About

Watch as the characters of Quentin Blake and Roald Dahl come to life at the Laing in an animal handling workshop inspired by our Quentin Blake: Inside Stories exhibition. This educational session is a unique opportunity to get up close and personal to exciting new characters experienced through stories and live animal interaction.

Firstly meet William; the gloriumptious worm with a mischievous mission to combat climate change and maybe even change the world! The tale of William will use creative wordplay to touch upon themes of friendship, invention and adventure. At each turn William meets a whole host of animals whom you will have the rare opportunity to be able to interact with, just as he does.

The workshop is in partnership with ZooLab, the UK's No.1 animal handling and learning company who aim to amaze, educate and inspire through nature.

This session is the perfect opportunity for a fun and hands-on response to the exhibition. All participants will have the opportunity to handle animals such as a millipede, tarantula, tree frog, rat and snake.

This event will take place inside the Child's Play exhibition, which is a celebration of all things playful in the Laing collection.
