About
Researchers at Newcastle University have developed a new vision game for children to test how well they can see in 3D. The project is known as ASTEROID (Accurate STEReotest On a mobIle Device).
ASTEROID is a hide-and-seek 3D computer game where 3D cues help children to find the prizes. Researchers at Newcastle University believe ASTEROID will be more accurate and more fun than existing tests.
3D eye tests help eye care professionals to measure how well the eyes work together. The existing tests for 3D vision are known to be quite unreliable.
The workshop aims to help Newcastle University get some feedback on ASTEROID by letting children play one of the games and then telling what they thought, as well as listening to the opinions of parents and guardians.
