Ho Ho Howay! Be the first to try Newcastle’s newest Christmas tradition at Discovery Museum.
A Canny Christmas Grotto is a magical Geordie-themed festive experience complete with a visit to Santa in a traditional grotto decked out in black and white – with elves to match.
Families can experience a warm welcome in an inclusive and friendly space with twinkly lights and a sprinkle of Geordie charm.
Tickets include a hot chocolate, sweet treat, festive crafts and photo opportunities, all jollied along by the friendly Geordie elves. Children under 12* will receive a gift from Santa too.
Every member of the party needs a ticket. *Babies under 18 months go free but must have a ticket to receive a gift.
What to expect:
- A warm Geordie welcome from elves in their special black and white costumes, spreading festive fun and cheer in Discovery Museum's café - check out the display of some Geordie icons, too!
- Start off by getting cosy with a hot chocolate and a sweet treat
- Santa’s elves will take you along a festive walkway to the workshop for Christmas crafts and to write a letter to Santa
- Black and white decorations with a true Toon twist
- A giant gingerbread throne - perfect for making memories with your festive photos - tag us with your pictures or use #CannyChristmas
- A special meet and greet with Santa himself in his cosy grotto - with a gift for children included.
