About

Join us for a relaxation session, combining mindfulness, meditation, journalling and sound.

The first hour of the session focuses on mindfulness techniques, including meditation and journalling (there's no need to share your journalling). You'll learn a range of mindfulness techniques that you can continue whenever you need a moment of calm. This will help us to feel grounded and calm, ready to absorb the wellbeing benefits of sound.

The second hour of the session focuses on listening to sound for relaxation. Jan will play her Tibetan singing bowls, which produce rich, resonant tones and vibrations that help calm the mind. Relax as the sound washes over you. In this part of the session you'll be listening rather than playing - however there is the opportunity to try using the mini handpan and mini zen tubes.

You'll leave feeling lighter and calmer, with a range of easy mindfulness techniques to use whenever you need. Please note: This class is designed to support wellbeing, but does not constitute healthcare or medical advice. It takes place seated at tables, on chairs without arms.

This class is run by wellbeing practitioner Jan Ashburner, who is passionate about combining calmness with creativity. This autumn, around World Mental Health Day, we invite you to explore wellbeing through creativity in a range of workshops run by Jan. Take a look at our workshops.
