Gift Appeal 2025 - Asylum Seekers and Refugees

This Christmas, the Shipley will be collecting gifts for Asylum Seekers and Refugees.

This year, our charity partner is Peace of Mind

This Christmas, we are collecting gifts for Asylum Seekers and Refugees. Our charity partner, Peace of Mind, will distribute the gifts to people of all ages.

Donations are welcome with immediate effect and the final date for donations to be dropped off is Thursday 18 December at 4pm

Items should be in new condition and not gift wrapped, though if the items are placed in bags or boxed that would be welcome. Donations of gift wrap and tape are also welcome. 

Peace of Mind would appreciate the following items: 

  • Warm clothing 
  • Cosy blankets 
  • Toys
  • Books
  • Toiletries 
  • Non-perishable food cupboard items, such as tins, pasta, etc
  • Christmas treats, such as chocolate, sweets, etc
  • Christmas decorations 

We will not accept donations of alcohol. 

Peace of Mind aims to provide peace of mind for those fleeing war, destitution, violence, forced marriage, and political persecution, and to build a safe community in the North East of England.
